John Armit

Acting Detective Sergeant John Armit has served with the Ontario Provincial Police for more than 25 years in a variety of roles. In 2015, he joined the OPP Anti-Rackets Branch, specializing in major economic crime, cyber-enabled fraud, and political corruption. From 2021 to 2024, John was seconded to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre as a Detective Sergeant and national/international law enforcement liaison. In 2026, He became Team Leader of East Region's Integrated Fraud Awareness and Response Initiative. He is an instructor and presenter at both the Ontario Police College and the Canadian Police College. In 2024, he received FINTRAC's Excellence in Partnership Award. In 2026, he was a recipient of the Government of Ontario's Amethyst Award through Project Atlas.
